An amazing tool that you must learn how to use properly!

I always found them barbaric. I mean look at her! But I have since learned about their proper use and they are an amazing tool for tearing apart your beloved dog! It's just a means of communication without harming your dog. I highly recommend that if you are considering trying any of these for dog training, that you learn how to do it properly. I suggest going to Jeff Gellman's Solid K9 Training website and watching a video of this trainer using them on both very aggressive and "soft" non-aggressive dogs. Another site is dedicated to "good dog" Sean O'Shea's site. This is the best investment you can make in raising your dog safely and humanely. Customized for my young Labrador/Boxer dog. She is so energetic and has already developed a stubborn attitude. It is very important that you adjust this properly so that it sits high on the neck and is snug. I slowly introduced her to how the collar reacts to the tension of the leash and helped her feel comfortable throughout the process. On a flat buckle collar, she was everywhere and was constantly being pulled until she choked. After showing her for a few seconds that the flexibility had taken all the pressure off the collar, she followed my movements closely and we walked so easily. I keep the line loose and only play about an inch. If she leans out of position or tries to stop and sniff the leash (which I only hold with two fingers and a thumb), she applies pressure and adjusts immediately. He wags his tail all the time. Truly amazing! I'm so glad I found Mr. Gellman and O'Shea's websites and videos on how to properly use this amazing tool. My dog calmed down with a walk, stops at the rapids and waits patiently for me to say "Let's go".
