A cheap device that requires software you don't need on your computer

This has to be one of the most unfortunate devices. Not to mention that the software is really troublesome for your computer because it downloads programs unnecessarily and then doesn't uninstall everything by itself. In fact, most programs remained installed on the 3 systems tested. There are some usability issues: you MUST have an internet connection to use the device (the software requires you to log into the website first) and get your data and updates. No thank you. It installs Microsoft Edge even if you have disabled it. The lateral data port for a microxd card (mandatory) can hardly be used. You have to remove the shockproof rubber cover to get to it. The software keeps trying to use another drive on my computer to try to write to it, and to access the memory card on the device you have to disconnect all wired ethernet connections - it transfers an unnecessary amount of data over wifi. With all the privacy issues surrounding software outside of China, they must do everything they can to be transparent and ensure all software is removed correctly. For some of these modules I have no idea why they are here. And 140mg of software to make this little device work? Very worrying. And force you to give them your car, VIN, mailing address, phone number, date of purchase, etc. just to contact tech support? No thank you. I'm deleting the rig, putting it up for sale on ebay and hoping to get some of the money back. The app for this is a 2008 GL550 and I had to set the air suspension automatically, which the auto function couldn't do. - The pump overheats for 15-20 minutes after adjustment. So I installed it manually, which worked, but found that it couldn't fully plug into the computer like a dealer module. So it still has to be driven to the dealer to have the last few mm readjusted. In any case, close enough to drive. He saved the towing bill. But I will never buy from this company again.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Crumpled
