This is a pretty solid power strip and for the price I'm very happy with it. I've seen many reviews complaining about the plastic mounts. These are actually end caps that cover the metal brackets to protect them during transit. You must remove them. It is easy and safe to assemble. The weakest link in an extension cord is actually the outlet itself. If I have a plug that fits snugly into the outlet, when I pull it out it feels like the whole outlet is breaking out of the metal casing of the power strip. But so far it's held up and I don't expect to have to unplug it very often.
