Review on Trio Portable Monitors: Touch-Sensitive and IPS Compatible (101-1004P01) by Erick Eritano

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Cool idea but make sure you really need it

First, the magnets used to attach a monitor to a laptop are useless. This can be overcome with lots of velcro, but you'll have to decide if you want to do this with your laptop. The monitor unexpectedly adds to the weight of the laptop. The arm that the monitor sits on is made of plastic and the monitor hangs slightly at an odd angle when the monitor is fully extended. The mount doesn't feel rigid or strong enough to withstand constant use. The monitor itself is pretty dim and I couldn't make it brighter to match my laptop, but other than that it works as expected. As I said, a cool idea, but at this price it doesn't justify 4 or 5 stars. I could forgive most of its many small flaws if it seemed more durable.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • The monitor inputs are not compatible with other devices.
