F-150 3.5L Ecoboost, 2013 This solved my 4x4 crushing symptom as it drew attention when it shouldn't have. As the temperatures started to drop that fall, I heard the driver's side IWE module want to turn on when driving at about 20-30 mph and suddenly let off the gas. This would make sense because then the vacuum pressure would be at its lowest. Previously, our pick-up often drove to the dealership when it was still under warranty. Replaced (yes it really was): transfer case, both IWE modules, all front right driveshaft outboard bearings (the tech ruined them putting the shaft back in place after replacing the IWE). The problem also comes back when it gets cold. I would suggest keeping a spare in the glove box as it is very inexpensive compared to replacing IWE modules that fail. They're just a nickel-sized rubber membrane that loses flexibility over time. Combine that with low temperatures and dirt exposure and you're in for trouble.
