Fair Speakers: Coaxial Speakers

I just received a used toy tractor that had one of the four outside mounted speakers burned out. These were single-sided speakers with a whistle cone. I bought two pairs of these 5 ¼" two ways to replace them all. The specs called for deeper holes and a larger cutout diameter than a toy dump truck. I decided to use 3 x 10 1/2" x 7" " building deep birch plywood boxes to solve the problem and improve the bass a bit. After building one and installing it, I noticed that it wasn't as loud and bass-heavy as I expected, the mids were a little lacking, and the highs sounded a little sterile.I returned a pair and decided to keep my original two to deliver the mid tone they have. The result with a cheap bearing and a Lanzar AQ5CXW on each side works really well together. I only need to boost bass 2 and treble 1 to make it sound decent I'm happy with the result but I'm only giving it 4 stars because the tone alone wouldn't be anything special and they don't have a 3 ½ star option ha kill I should add that I'm a musician and I'm very critical of the sound. Hope that helps.
