Check your drive's power requirements, buy a dual-Y power cable if you need to burn it. I bought it to use with a slim 12.7mm BD-RW, LG BT30N. LG BT30N draws 1.5A (7.5W) like most thin models. The cable that this case comes with is a single Micro-B to USB 3.0 A connector and can only request up to 900mA. Although it worked fine as a ROM, every time I tried to burn a disc, the drive would disconnect and the burn would fail. To fix this I bought a plain USB 3.0 Dual Power Y to Micro (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MFL4HQU) which has 2 Type-A ends to the host, a USB 3.0 data port and a USB 2.0 for additional performance. It now works great burning BDs, DVDs and CDs on both my laptop and the front USB sticks on my desktop. Got one star for not including a dual power cable, while the box clearly says "writable" and nothing above the power requirements listed on the box and accompanying booklet. Although the body is aluminum, the plastic end cap is flimsy, the chassis is plastic but solid, with a metal center plate for the controller. The rear end cap, which holds the entire device together, screws into the plastic parts of the case rather than the metal center plate. But the whole unit fits together well and the drive does not rattle or anything like that. The device dangled in a holdall in my laptop bag for 4 years. As mentioned elsewhere, this is for 12.7mm thin models and no bezel.
