If you get exactly what I paid for then this car is fine as expected. It takes a while to get up and running after turning it on, and the "on" button is tricky - you have to press it correctly and very quickly. You can brew a single or double shot, but the double shot cup doesn't hold two scoops of grist, but a maximum of one and a half. (You can put in two scoops, but it won't fit in your car like that.) Boiled milk froths a lot without even trying. The problem is that it produces so much foam so quickly that the 12 ounce bell jar I bought fills up completely with milk/foam before the milk is hot enough. So I bought a larger bell (3 ounces) but this requires using a lot more milk for the short steam wand to reach it so I always have milk left. When preparing espresso, your shots will become bitter as they settle. for more than a few seconds before either drinking it quickly (like the Italians do) or adding milk. So you want to boil the milk first and then make the espresso. This is reflected in the instructions that came with the machine. However, these instructions include a step of "cooling the boiler" after frothing the milk and before making the espresso. This will cause water to flow out of the steam wand until it stops by itself and the buttons stop flashing. It takes a good 30 seconds for your milk to cool down. So you want your milk to be a little hotter than you would like your drink to run out. if you can heat it enough that the foam doesn't overflow your bell. With practice, a large bell, and a foam regulator set to the right level, anything is possible. Preparing espresso is easy enough as long as you use no more than 1.5 scoops of ground coffee as mentioned above. Quickly add the already frothed milk/foam and you're done. Except you still have to dump the wet floor. I recommend leaving them in the holder until they are cool and dry, and then gently tapping the holder into the compost bin until the grains fall out of the cup. Tap too hard or wait too long and the cup will come out of the holder with the coffee grounds inside. Once you get the hang of it, this machine can produce delicious drinks.
