Definitely not the old type of dishes like Corelle. These are far from uniform when stacked. They are definitely unique in color, raging from almost white to almost black. No 2 peices look the same. For the price, I feel the pieces should at least be straight. I would probably by again for everyday use but won't use them for a holiday meal unless it was very casual. I loved the idea that they are non toxic which is getting harder to find in dishes unless they are plain white with no decoration. Cups are a teacup size not a coffee mug which is clearly explained in the company's description.
