This is an amazing thing! I use it to make rosehip syrup and jam. I've used colanders, colanders and cheesecloth before and it's well worth the money. The attached picture shows the sifting of 3 pounds of rose hips that have been boiled with 8 cups of water. It was difficult, but everything was certain. It easily fits in my 8 liters. soup pot as well as my 8 quart. enameled cast iron pan with reserve space in the controls. I just poured the whole pot of rosehip puree into a colander and let it steep. After a few hours I tried squeezing and wringing it out to squeeze out the remaining juice and I may have gotten an extra tablespoon. In the resulting liquid there is actually a very fine "sediment" that has settled in my syrup, which doesn't bother me at all. I've only used it on rose hips, so I can't say if this will be an issue with other jelly fruits. In general, stop shopping, spend your money and buy this colander - you will not regret it.
