These clasps are decorative and can be worn with one hand. However, be aware that it may slip if it bumps into one spot or if you use it on a heavier necklace. I bought mine for bracelets and it works fine, but in the future I will add a small safety chain to connect the two sides of the bracelet so it doesn't fall off when opened but instead hangs on my wrist. .Otherwise I am very satisfied with the look and ease of use.
