Thermal protection that you can really endure!

Silicone is a great way to make things heat resistant. I've even had textured silicone oven mitts in the past, but they were awkward to use for anything more than the basic "grip" as they were quite thick and much larger than my hands. However, these gloves are VERY different. They are a soft, spongy cloth glove that is then dipped in a clear silicone coating. The result is a thinner but still VERY heat resistant and very snug fitting glove. (Be sure to check the size chart to choose the size that works best for your hands.) I can easily take smaller pans out of the oven while carrying them. My daughter also tried them when she was making toffee (candy that needs to be "pulled out" of the cooked sugarpaste while it's still quite hot to take in air and make the candy chewy). She had done this before with old gloves and found it better than bare hands, but clumsy. THESE gloves made it easier and she was able to start puffing a bit sooner (although actually softer. Lollipops get hard as they cool, toffee gets harder to pull. If you wait too long you'll end up with hard caramel). Decided to give it a try after remembering seeing "sugar artists" use a pair of white gloves while pulling out the sugar at one of those baking competition shows. similar. I could also see that they are great to use with my smoker, on the BBQ, or even around the campfire! So if you want GREAT thermal protection in a glove you can actually move in, this is great for you!
