Review on ONIVA Picnic Time Brand 3 Piece by Amy Ward

Good, bad and ugly

Good: price, size and packaging. I bought this set in stock for about $12. Nowhere in the description does it say size. Each piece is approximately 18 inches long. I think this is a good size for grill tools. The carry case is also noteworthy. It's nylon with some filler. This helps protect them when not in use. The bag has nylon straps that are also adjustable. I give the case 5 stars. Bad: The product description states that the spatula is serrated. No, that is not so! The only thing I could cut was softened butter. Ugly: wood paneling! And gold studs. One of my hobbies is wood repair, so I tend to be overly critical. The wood was not sanded properly before staining. The color was uneven, strong streaks remained in several places. Can't say a protective seal hasn't been put in place, but in places it's very difficult to see. About rivets. Consider me picky. They have a nice stainless steel finish but fake gold rivets. (Think of the gold stars your teacher gave you at school. the same color). Overall I am very happy with this set so far. But it will be polished once summer is over. Update: I wasn't waiting for summer to end. After stripping and polishing we found a very nice tree. Rather than using wood stain to change the color, we applied multiple coats of natural oils to enhance the wood. The stripping also removed the gold coloring from the rivets. You are very beautiful now.
