It's not the same as the original Kenmore filters but they work just as well. They seem a little less durable but once in place I leave them for the season. A measure of how well they work is how much moisture my humidifier releases into the air. My console humidifier needs to be refilled twice a day (it's still 99% empty at breakfast and dinner). I just checked and the wicks are about half wet (I've never tested Kenmore wicks to be honest). Although my humidifier releases just as much moisture into the air as the original Kenmore wicks. Also, we have very hard water here and in 2 months of continuous use I haven't noticed any drop in performance. I will replace these wick filters sometime. year in early December, as I did with the originals.
