Review on Enhanced Cuisinart Gold Tone Filtering System by David West

Revainrating 2 out of 5

What I don't like here is that it's not clearly stated 2/5

1. Is the plastic of this filter BPA free or not? It is not explicitly stated whether the plastic contains BPA.2. There is no description of what the filter actually consists of. Some say it's plastic, some say it's metal. Mine appears to be metal but I didn't read the description carefully enough or assumed it would be thin or gold plated so the acid from the coffee wouldn't interact with the metal of the filter. That's close to what I had. before, but they have no markings or packaging explaining what they are. I use such filters to filter cold coffee into a glass jar. I don't care if the holes in the filter are perfect for straining because to get good coffee I pass them with a paper filter inside to catch any debris. I used a "gold" filter because it allows the paper filter to drain faster instead of just clogging at the bottom. This system works well one day a week to filter coffee for a full week, but I would prefer it to be BPA or lead free from a cheap product made in China. and this product doesn't tell me - EXACTLY? 2/5

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • A few minor things
