Batteries and sound

As soon as I opened the box, the first thing I had to do was buy batteries to replace the dead ones in the unit. Second, the alarm was supposed to sound at 9ppm, but I bumped it up to 48 and then backed it off, nothing but a flashing red light. If the alarm had worked I would probably give it 5 stars as it appears to be cooking carbon monoxide as it should.
