We bought this as a home barrier for our 2012 Outback Subaru. Our back compartment is exactly 32 inches so we were concerned it might not fit and called to check before ordering. We were assured that everything would be fine. It isn't, and not just for that reason. didn't fit and we had to remove both supports an inch. Seriously, the vertical supports could not be fully tightened, damaging the car's roof and the supports were never fully secured. Worse, our dog (43 lbs, mixed breed, calm dog) could easily move the bars with his paws no matter how hard we tried to pinch them. Her neck is stuck in the middle of one of the vertical blocks. DO NOT THINK we didn't assemble it correctly. I am very practical and definitely overzealous and accurate. This product just couldn't be used safely no matter what we did. Don't buy it.
