I also had an issue where the monitor couldn't see the signal through the cable plugged into the USB-C port on two different Macs. It's been working fine for a few weeks now, so I don't really know why the monitor just decided to disconnect. This is very disappointing as I bought a refurbished monitor and I doubt HP will do anything to help me. I will check the seller's warranty. Update: I got the monitor working again by unplugging and plugging it back in, which I still have to do from time to time. Also, there's a lot of false advertising here: USB-C only works with USB 3 if you choose a low refresh rate, which stutters noticeably just by hovering the cursor over the screen. I don't see any way to put the monitor to sleep while still playing audio or powering the hub to charge things. Considering I bought this particular monitor with USB-C support to ensure accurate color reproduction with a single cable, this is a HUGE downside.
