Easy to install, works well, quiet, great water flow. Arrived within 2 business days. Tools Required: * Wrenches (for fittings) * Screwdrivers (to remove the old solenoid and attach the new one to the humidifier) * Wire strippers (to remove the sheathing from the wires of the new solenoid) * Plumbing tape/silicone tape (to ensure tight connections ) . This solenoid has good water flow, universal connectors, and doesn't make much noise when turning on and off. When installing I suggest you put plumbing tape on the copper connectors (this should be done on every plumbing connection) to make sure you don't have a leak. Also check for leaks after installation (dry all connections, wait an hour or two, then check). The solenoid can be reversed in the mount if you have a humidifier where the water comes from the right side instead of the left (hold it with your hand beforehand to make sure you need it). Installation overview: (1) Close the compression valve on the water supply line (2) Remove the old magnetic screws, wire connectors, water supply and return line (3) Check the correct size of the new fitting you will be using the old water supply line before attaching, gluing Then tape over the new fitting and screw it into the new solenoid (note this can be a tight fit, make sure you tighten it so it doesn't leak, but not so tight that it does Breaks or cracks - (4) Connect the water outlet connector to the solenoid with tape (5) Install the solenoid where the old one was, use the old screws, connect the wires (it doesn't matter which order they are connected , plus no/negative), connect the water lines (again, use water tape on the water line) (6), switch the Compression valve and check for leaks. At the water inlet (7), turn on the heater to force water through the solenoid valve and check for leaks (8). If necessary, adjust the water flow rate. Loud click, not me. Another assessment found that too much water flowed through. That is a good thing. My last solenoid wasn't letting enough water through. You can adjust the water flow (if desired) at the compression fitting (usually attached to the water heater water line).
