Update: Video of my adorable little girl and her infatuation with the delicious warmth of this fireplace I rarely use my wood-burning fireplace and it kills two birds with one Stone. It warms the living room and makes the fireplace an important part of the overall atmosphere in the room. It would have been worth the money for the looks alone and how the light changed the feel of the room. The fact that it also retains heat is a huge plus. If you have a wood-burning fireplace that is rarely used, take a look at the insert and I would recommend this one. I've tried a few others and this is the best value for money I've tried. It's really amazing too, when I turn it on my dog immediately lies down in front of it and soaks up the delicious warmth, enough to warm up the room. I always leave the light on when I'm in the living room, even if I don't need the heat, because it makes me feel comfortable and it's easy to stare at it while my mind wanders. The remote control is very small and rudimentary (4 buttons), which also makes it easier to use. I attached a small piece of velcro to the back of the remote and to my coffee table so I know where it is because it could potentially get lost easily. Conclusion: Try it out. I almost expected to get it back but after the first night it's not going anywhere.
