We usually avoid battery operated toys because my baby is turning into a zombie, but we bought it for an international trip. It was a hit. I appreciate that the screen is backlit so she can see graphics even in a dark car or plane. This gaming phone has two volume levels and none are particularly loud - for me that's an advantage, not a disadvantage! I see many complaints that this toy is too quiet. My husband and I have different opinions. It's loud enough for our little girl to hear, and we can hear it from the front seat of our car. It's not too loud, so you won't necessarily hear it in noisy environments. Again, no complaints from us. I like that it has some interactive games. Now that we are back from the trip we can only use the car and the little one is still asking to play with it.
