I have 2 of these camera kits and another from the same company, the 'wireless' version that shows on the screen in the rearview mirror. I like them all and I firmly believe that they are worth the money. They are not expensive. Note that I didn't say they were cheap. To me, cheap means poor quality. (Wireless is actually a bit more "fussy" and can blink backwards once a few seconds and randomly pick up other wireless signals, but I still like it and think it works well) I put my review aside to give myself time actually use and evaluate. So far there has been nothing to complain about in terms of features and performance. I added some photos and a short video for you. Before I break the review down into pros and cons, let me give you a general review: I've been driving cars and trucks without cameras for a LONG time. I didn't support anything or anyone. So why bring a camera? Because it CAN make a big difference. Check out the night photos of the kids tricycle behind my van. I would NEVER watch this without a camera. So this works great and I love it. Pros: Works great at night! In fact, you can almost see it as if it were daytime. Good display does what it's supposed to. Mostly easy to install (mostly - see "Cons" below) Inexpensive Holds up great so far so good. work fine, but it's a bit strange, the lines don't move on the screen. So if the camera is pointing further up, they won't align / won't work. The camera must be pointed at the correct angle. I suggest experimenting and tweaking until you get what you like. clear video Cons: Some of the included wires are VERY thin. I think it would be much better if they supplied a larger wire. The wiring here is a little weird (at least that's how my brain works). I'm an experienced electronics engineer and I work with stuff like this all the time. The yellow VGA video connector has a red wire on both sides. I assumed they were electrically connected, but they weren't. In the instructions, connect this wire to the reverse signal wire. So you need to connect one end near the reversing lights/number plate and the other end you need to connect to the same signal wire but above the dash. Why not just hook it up behind your reverse lights for once, where it's (usually) easier to route that signal down or into the VGA cable that has to go there anyway? Well I did. I routed an extra cable from the "Flyer" cable on the back of my car to the front where it connects to the monitor and actually used it to connect both the "Flyer" cable on the opposite end and the connect the power supply to the monitor. I might draw a diagram later and attach it here, but it made a lot more sense to me to do it this way and I did it and it works great. That's all. Simple, convenient, inexpensive, functional. What else do you need?
