Review on Panasonic SL-SW940 Shockwave Water Resistant Portable CD Player (Blue): The Ultimate Outdoor Music Companion by Jim Ledbetter

I just bought this CD player today and I love it. I am impressed with the NO SKIP technology and its price. I had another Panasonic SL Shock Wave that I bought for Christmas 1999 and used until yesterday. Small gadget survived 4 years HEAVY use (PENALTY): Daily use, plus sand from beach, desert, water, lots of water (not submerged) I like to listen when I'm in the bath, I would even take a Turkish bath on top of that , Yes. it worked in temperatures above 45C. It fell hard on concrete, probably 15 times and still survived, I even attached it to my mountain bike and rode it until last fall: I accidentally dropped it and a small piece of metal broke. Inside. This thing would have cost me as much to fix as this eventual brother bought. This new model is also equipped with a CD JOGGER handle that allows you to run with the little guy in hand. I like the previous model's indentations for the fingertips (when you're holding it) which the new model doesn't have, but I found you still have the same grip, mainly an aesthetic feature. In conclusion, I only give the SL-SW940 4 stars because the material is not metal like its predecessors and I find that metal needs more than plastic. On the other hand, this model is equipped with Panasonic's New Anti-Skip technology, which is not only new, but improved tenfold. And one more thing: Panasonic headphones are included. Give these headphones to a child or donate them to charity, unless you're a masochist: they cut off your ears for their shape. I'm thinking of engineers. Also, they sound TERRIBLE. You need to get yourself a good pair of headphones: Panasonic have a new set of very stylish headphones that come with other CD players that aren't as good as this one. Sony also sells great sports headphones with Ultra Bass technology. You must get one of them. Panasonic or Sony, Maxell is good too. Conclude. The price of this product is great buy this is the best bang for your buck.
