Review on Black Lower Triple Tree Wind Deflector For Harley Touring Electra Street Glide 2014-2021 Models by Louis Alford

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nicely constructed but "added " a little buffeting

Quick version: Solid construction, Fit well on my Road King, but actually ADDED buffeting, going to keep it and try in the summer without windshield & fork deflectors. The Story: The construction of this deflector is solid and fit well on my 2019 Road King FLHR. BTW - the torque on fork pinch screws for this bike is 14-18 Ft Lbs, I used 15 FtLb. I usually don't use my (stock) windshield at all, but wanted to start for long rides. The buffeting with the windshield isn't real bad, but at 65+mph for a long time is annoying. I was really hoping this Triple Tree Wind Deflector would tone it down just a little more. When I installed it, it oddly "added" buffeting at slower speeds (around 40mph), where I didnt have it before. At 50-60 it would go away, but came back at 65+mph. The buffeting was actually worse than when I was just using the windshield. SO. I kept it on and bought fork mount wind deflectors from HD, and quess what? I still had freaking buffeting. BUT, I took off this wind deflector, and It make a huge difference. Using the fork mounted ones by themselves FINALLY solved my problem. I'm keeping this to try it during the summer, without a windshield or fork deflectors. I'm taking the fork ones off for the summer because you can really feel the engine heat with them on.

Pros
  • It’s easy to install and it helps with the wind.
Cons
  • May reduce the aesthetic appeal of the motorcycle
