These foot massagers really impressed me. In fact, they're more like compressors than massagers; Imagine a pair of giant blood pressure cuffs that fit around your calves, feet, forearms, or thighs (they're not big enough to fit around my thighs, but you might have better luck). There is an air compressor in the control box that makes some noise, but not as bad or as loud as I feared. The compressor drives a series of air bubbles into the cuffs, which inflate and deflate in a pattern that "massages" your legs. There are 3 levels of intensity and they can be set to massage the entire calf (pressure), just the bottom (shiatsu), or just the top (kneading). There are also 3 heating levels, or the heating can be turned off. The included instructions mention connecting the air hoses to the controller, but my package already did that. All I had to do was connect the power cord to the controller and plug it in. Each of the rubberized air tubes is nearly 3 feet long, giving you good leg mobility when carrying them (of course, they still remain connected to the wall so you don't have to get up and walk around). The cuffs have a wide adjustment range and are comfortable to wear. Even at the lowest intensity level, the compressors provide significant pressure (even if you use them over pants), so everyone can find a setting that suits them. She.
