I recently had a hard drive failure on my main laptop. While I had a backup, transferring 700 gigabytes to another computer with a traditional external hard drive took over 10 hours. With the included USB Type-C cable and a 2TB NVME M.2 SSD, I get 980Mbps data transfer, which saves a lot of time backing up my new laptop. Expensive solution for me it is worth it. The fan is quiet and keeps the SSD at a reasonable temperature.
