I recommend buying the same Steelman adapter as he did.

The square end works well in the F-150's spare tire winch. First I tried. that the 1/2" drive end does not have enough play as none of my 1/2" drive wrenches or adapters will fit unless the drive end plating and material is cleaned. Otherwise it works as advertised. I recommend buying the same adapter. by Steelman because it has a hex socket end.

Pros

Used to remove and install under vehicle mounted spare tires. The working end is a 3/8 inch square head. And avoids damage to tools and spare wheel lifters.
