Ideal for city bikes. It's better than leaning the bike against something. I've used mine a lot to hold my bike when moving house. I definitely wouldn't use it to support a baby or a valuable load, but it's good for a stopover to do some shopping or use the bathroom. If the bike is heavily loaded, you may need to fully extend your legs and tie the bike to a stationary object to be safe. I've had mine for 6 years now and the plastic boots on my feet are showing some wear but work well. If you prefer a sportier style, the footrest can be easily removed with a single large hex head screw. I use it on a fat tire 700c hybrid. I tried it on a normal road bike with slicks. It was ok but much heavier than Green Field or a similar aluminum kickstand.
