I had hard drives from two computers that would not boot. I suspected that the problem was in the power supply. Both were computers running Windows 7, which is no longer supported (unless you're a big business). I had scattered some data on the CDs but when I got a new box of Win 10 I wanted to recover data from two CDs. This device has connectors and a power supply so that the old hard drive can be installed on the target computer. like a USB hard drive. The directories (or selected files in the directory) are then moved to the correct location on the new system. The system worked flawlessly on both drives.
