Does what it says - SATA cable

Used this to extract files from a bunch of old hard drives I've removed from various computers I've gotten rid of in the past. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just something easy to use. That works great. I had a disc that wasn't spinning but because of the clicking I hear when trying. I screwed that up once. Pros: Ease of use, USB 3, plug-and-play Cons: While it's easier to align the pins than some Drop models I've looked at, there's still a small margin for error if not handled carefully

very upset what should I do? Help, very disappointed. Bought it based on the great reviews to protect my Seagate Plus data. I only connected "cap" and USB to three different computers (1 Windows) but it never lights up and doesn't blink. I carefully lifted the cap with HD but the pins do not make contact with the Seagate Plus HD. Also, I connected the power cord and plug to the computers. However, I still get the USB disconnect message due to power consumption. The power cord should have…

It actually worked for computers and accessories

It worked as advertised. I use it on 3TB drives and it's as good as they advertised. I/O speed also corresponds to the declared one. Overall a good buy. Hope it lasts me a few years. The only annoying thing is that when you connect the device to the hard drive, it isn't quite level. This means if you place the drive on a table, the SATA and power connectors on the drive will hold the device. The device does not touch the table. I had to place the unit on a stack of paper so it would rest on the

Works like a charm Good for SATA cables

I had hard drives from two computers that would not boot. I suspected that the problem was in the power supply. Both were computers running Windows 7, which is no longer supported (unless you're a big business). I had scattered some data on the CDs but when I got a new box of Win 10 I wanted to recover data from two CDs. This device has connectors and a power supply so that the old hard drive can be installed on the target computer. like a USB hard drive. The directories (or selected files in…

Runs flawlessly and is very well built

What an absolute bargain! This adapter is very well built and durable. Thick cables with strong shielding. This is NOT a cheap device. Comes with software that I haven't used but may use in the future. Don't listen to reviews that don't read your hard drive. If it isn't read, your hard drive isn't working. I've used all 3 ports for the various drives I had and they all work fine. It's a pass-through design that allows for plug-and-play. Requires NO drivers. However, your computer still needs to

The best tool for storing old data

This device has made it much easier to get rid of decades-old stacks of devices. I had several older devices that didn't have an easy method of extracting data (no ethernet, no USB). This device allowed me to remove hard drives and transfer data to newer media without having to use an older system. that used an IDE, had cables for laptop hard drives, and had either Ethernet or USB. When I used it to consolidate my data, I found out that Windows 10 still cannot read Linux file format and I had…

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Not automatic

Bought to install my Playstation 2 physical drives on an internal hard drive in the console - which only uses the older, less common IDE hard drive interface. I wanted a new adapter and this Alxum converter stood out because it offered a faster USB 3.0 interface. I rarely see old IDE interfaces ever connected to modern transfer rates, so I decided to give this adapter a try. It works with both desktop and laptop IDEs, as well as the more common SATA drives, but these days they're a dime a…
