If you tighten WAY ABOVE the required setting torque you can do PERMANENT damage to the calibration Also, I LOVE THIS THING! The FIRST digital torque wrench I have ever owned. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it. It is save! Just be careful not to overshoot the set torque value. this can corrupt the calibration (the user manual says so, it calls a 10% error). I see someone damaged it. easy when tired. Pros, love the beeps when you start getting close, love how it starts to vibrate when you start getting very close, like looking at the 0-100% scale, it helps me too know when to start slowing down and take a deep breath in very slowly, it beeps continuously and vibrates and the light turns green when you reach the torque you set it to. The light turns RED when you walk over it and it vibrates differently (which lets you know). Finally, the LCD can be difficult to read. I was looking at it (reading it upside down) upside down when I was working on my camshaft. It would be nice if there was a button to rotate the display 180 degrees. It has a black light for reading in darker environments (I turned it off to save batteries, press and hold the power button + up arrow for 3 long seconds) I learned how to use a torque wrench for the first time, I did loved it! Now I need a 3/8 inch wrench. I have a small compact wrench for $50 (turn any wrench into a torque wrench). It can be kept well in the car when I go on a trip and need to make sure all the tires are tight.
