Review on 🚲 iBert Front Mount Baby Bicycle Seat: A Safe and Convenient Bike Child Carrier by Shawn Jimenez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good, but not perfect as everyone says.

So we did a few laps around with the iBert and here is my opinion. The concept, build/construction and installation are great. I knew right away that we made the right choice in choosing the front seat over the back seat. My son is 16 months old, and for literally 2 minutes in a row during our first walk, he screamed: "WOWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Die Konstruktion sieht sehr solide aus und fühlt sich auch so an. It's a very simple design, and simplicity is good. Fewer errors and breakage. It feels very stable and balances the bike pretty well as I feel the rear seats tend to put too much weight on the rear end. Poorly. The comfort of this seat for your child depends 100% on the geometry of your bike. The angle of the seat is entirely determined by the angle of your bike's head tube (that's the small tube at the front that protrudes from the bottom of the fork and the top of the handlebars). My wife and I ride hybrid cruisers/mountain bikes, so the camera tilt is more than a commuter or hybrid bike. This causes this seat to recline a bit, forcing our son to keep his back, neck and head upright. Luckily, my posture forces me to lean forward a bit so his head rests lightly on my chest, making his effort a little easier. Ultimately the curve isn't totally unreasonable and my wife and I thought it would be fine although we don't know how it will hold up over a 2 hour drive. It would be nice if the seat had the ability to adjust the angle of inclination. The seat angle is therefore independent of the head tube angle. I suspect people with more conventional beach cruisers have kids that lean considerably further than ours. Ultimately, if you have a road hybrid commuter bike, you shouldn't see any problems. Those who ride cruisers or other conventional bikes should determine how much they are willing to force their child to hold their neck while riding.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some little things
