It is very difficult to draw a thin line as the leads are very soft, making it almost impossible to get an exact point. Even if it's just sharpened it won't stay good for very long because it's so soft. The colors are very bright. The names of the different colors are clever, instead of "moss green" they call it "pit green", for example. I ordered a set in a box instead of a can with the same number of colored pencils. I've noticed that those sold without a tin can don't have the color names on the side of the pencil. The ones in the box are hexagonal, not round. I have used them to enlarge a large group of colored pencils where I need a lighter shade or where I use a feather pen as the color spreads very easily. To that end, they are rated 5 stars. I would not recommend them as the only coloring pencils.
