The laptop has a very nice appearance with a metal structure. The Screen Bar is an innovative design that combines the best features of the Touch Bar, macro key add-ons, and a small second screen. My only issue is that since you have to switch between these functions, there are breaks in your workflow when switching between them. This is especially true when you activate the trackpad function to move around the screen and then back to another function that you used on the on-screen bar. However, the software design for these functions is excellent. There's even a quick, temporary toggle to make this easier. Just having to do it at all slows the process down. Once you learn how to move elements between the screen and the panel, it's very easy. I really wish there were more screenpad apps. (There are few.) But the ones that work, work fast and well. The main screen is bright and legible, and the very small bezel makes it even prettier. It's only 1920 x 1080, but it's not bad for a 13-inch laptop. This is not a touch screen. I found myself reaching out to touch the screen multiple times. A touchscreen could solve my problem with switching functions on the screenpad. The combination of a powerful processor, decent graphics card and solid state drive makes this a flexible and responsive device. The graphics card only has 2GB of RAM, which isn't enough to support its use in Premier Pro or After Effects for GPU-based rendering without tricks, but it's enough for most other tasks. 16 GB of internal memory is ideal for all kinds of tasks. The port assignment for the device is excellent. With 1 USB-c 3.1 v2, 1 USB-a 3.1 v2 and 1 USB-a 3.1 v1, you can connect all kinds of add-ons without a separate hub. The built-in HDMI port is also very useful. Finally, excellent stereo output and a microphone in the audio jack. It also supports WiFi (though not version 6) and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. I wish it had a USB-c power connector as all my existing power supplies are of this type. The former standard keg power connector is fine, but the power delivery is substantial. It would be nice to replace it with one of the newer smaller GAn models. Overall this is a great device, even with the limitations mentioned above. I noticed that it has a sister model that has an on-screen bar above the keyboard and the touchpad is a separate device. I like this design better even with a $400 price difference. Consider whether you'll be using it with a mouse all the time, or if switching between the trackpad and other features will be the bottleneck. If that's not a problem, then this is a good, serviceable device.
