Because this device supports a 30Hz refresh rate, it's not a very useful refresh rate for modern displays. My advice is don't mess with this device. A few people have reported that this device works on their higher refresh rate displays, but I tried several different cables and reviews to see if it would and wouldn't work. For the 4-port version, you pay around $800 per device. it will: - not support 100Hz. - remove the protocol your keyboard may have, such as B. the support of media keys. I had a conversation with Adrian Dantes, a Vertiv support representative, and this was what he said. "We don't support more than 30 Hz." That renders the market useless for such an expensive product; can't use this in a data center, something much cheaper could be implemented in an office (actually the odds of sharing a device via a usb port aren't that important. If you're connecting a usb drive that mounts then replaces was using a different host, you risk corrupting the filesystem (sharing a scanner maybe?) For this product to be worth the money spent on it, Vertiv needs to do the following: 1) Apparently support a higher refresh rate. You could say "only gamers need this", but that's not true: multimedia applications and videos benefit from it. 2) Fix USB HID issue. Nobody wants their keyboard to lose functionality for this device. 3) Work with a reputable DisplayPort cable company. Can I suggest Accell to mark their cables with a higher rating and their true VESA certification? The DisplayPort group even names them. 4) Plug in the cables. No cables? Reduce the price. Heck, reduce it anyway. For people who want a variant that supports G-Sync and although it will be two hosts and not four, I can suggest the following:- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XDRT9NX/ ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00 ? ie=UTF8&psc=1- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J9R9ZY9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You can also use these cables:- https://www. amazon.com/gp/product/B07JJXM82W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s05?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And they even work at 16ft/5m. Hope that helps. Also, Vertiv/Avocent, you've already contacted me, so please refrain from my comments about support/refunds. I've addressed this before, so there's no point in leaving any comments about support or anything like that.
