Insulation is dry and wire size is in the lower spec limit

I have 40 years of electronics design experience and winding wire is my choice for prototyping before releasing the final design. I just stopped what I was doing because I was disappointed with this product I purchased. There are two very, very important characteristics that will determine if a "buildup" will go smoothly or if it will be aggravation after aggravation. Two qualities: silver plating on the correct wire size AND insulation that is flexible (not OLD and DRY). The latter complicates assembly, as the insulation is difficult to remove and the silver (lack of silver) causes the connection to corrode over time, creating an intermittent connection. This product has a reasonable silver plate, but the wire size is on the smaller end of the size spec (if it even lives up to the spec). What I do know is that the competitor's cable I'm using now is a dream too. Both products are listed as 30 AWG, but competitor cables are significantly larger and less prone to breakage. The competitor's wire insulation is stretchy and perfectly soft for easy stripping. I will not put the competitor's name here, but the initials of Consolidated Electronic Wire & Cable. The product corresponds to the quantity and the price. Just for your information. I wouldn't write a review unless my daily project is put on hold until I can get a replacement for this product and move on. (I need multiple colors).
