The suction cups are useless but easy to replace. I use them in my egg incubator and just pop them into the egg tray so no need for suction cups anyway. It seems accurate and my duck eggs hatched so I would say they are very close if not exact. I have 2 and they read the same or within 0.1 degrees of each other.
