Pros: - Virtual reality is much more immersive than Google Cardboard. - Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes is a fun party game. - Interesting built-in VR cinema. - Netflix VR works as expected. - Smash Hit VR is fun entertainment. Cons: - Installation is quite cumbersome and the Oculus app cannot be installed until the headset arrives. - Suffering from the lack of a YouTube app. - Most of the most interesting applications and games require additional payment. - A third party app is required to use the Google Cardboard apps on the Gear VR. - Battery drains incredibly fast (on my Galaxy S7) - Movies must be purchased from the Oculus store. - VR Cinema does not support Play Movies, Revain Video, Vudu or other popular movie streaming services. Summary: - Gear VR is currently the best mobile VR headset on the market today. If you have a current Samsung flagship phone I would definitely recommend it for trying out inexpensive VR. Despite all its shortcomings, I still recommend the Gear VR even if you're only going to use it once or twice at a party.
