I have had this lens for a few months now and have used it several times for landscapes and interiors with great success. Yes, there is evidence of vignetting and barreling in some shots (particularly architectural shots) at the widest setting of 10mm, but this can be remedied by setting the value to around 12mm, depending on the subject. The build quality of this lens, which consists of a metal body, is one of the best in the Sony range. I paired my lens with a B+W Pro XS-Pro Digital Ultra Fine UV filter for general use and a Hoya Pro1 Digital MC PL-C Ultra Fine circular polarizing filter for outdoor landscapes to avoid the vignetting that associated with the use of the standard (thicker). Size. . Filter with wide-angle lenses in this range. Both filters work great with the lens. For the price I would have preferred f/2.8 to f/4 but I knew what I was getting and was completely satisfied with the construction and performance of this lens. I would not hesitate to buy a Sony SEL 10-18mm lens again and I wish you the best of luck with your decision.
