I ordered this for my 3.5 year old. I hesitated between buying now and waiting for her 4th birthday. I am very happy that I chose this! I was concerned that the pony's molding/building process involved too many steps. For the first pony we made (Pinkie Pie), I did most of the work by showing her how shapes work. The process includes choosing the eye color and placing it in the shell, filling it with the body color, and pasting the body. Shape the mold into a bowl. Then you close it, cut off excess material and open it up. It turned out great! The shape of the body shape shows what can be made for ponies with cutie marks on the butt. The insignia serve as a kind of mold for the insignia. We made the manes and tails with a tool that makes the "spaghetti" shade look like spaghetti. My *only* complaint is that these "injected" dough tools are notoriously difficult to clean. Even for such a small child it was a good choice. I highly recommend this if you have an MLP fan in your life!
