I'm using this to run the HCT Vive VR headset on my ASUS G751J laptop with mobile video NVidia 970. Apparently HDMI connects to the processor's onboard video (integrated graphics) and not directly to the NVidia - Graphics card Processor so unable to connect to HTV Vive VR headset. However, this mini display port works! I was able to use it without any problems after running the installer again and checking that everything worked. My large desktop uses a full NVidia 980, so I was surprised it worked so well on my smaller laptop. The Displayport cable did it! Now I can take my VR entertainment to my friends.
