Another copycat whose product does not work as advertised.

Unless you buy a famous brand from a reputable seller, this place really sucks. For those who don't know, this is a cheapening of the Hario teapot design with an added thermometer. That it's a copy is one thing, but at least do what works if you want to do it. WENEGG goes to great lengths to show how accurate their thermometer is and the importance of brewing temperature. You're wrong on both counts, but even if the latter were completely true, this teapot couldn't stand it. First, while knowing your temperature can be helpful, the outcome is entirely dependent on the host as a whole. other factors, some perhaps more important and most interdependent. Stating categorically that the "optimal temperature" for brewing coffee is 195-405°C is like saying that the ideal material for a shirt is cotton. It's just not always true when combined with any number of other variables. To digress further while we talk about misconceptions about coffee in general, the common misconception is that brewing right after boiling and not at a lower temperature burns your coffee. totally wrong and provably wrong. For reference, watch James Hoffman's excellent brew-to-boil temperature demonstration on YouTube. This makes the importance of the temperature and thermometer in this kettle less critical to the outcome of your cooking than you might think, especially with light to medium roasts. Your water was at a certain time, this kettle won't tell you. I may have gotten a broken thermometer, but I tested the thermometer at different temperatures against two other working and synchronous thermometers and this one kept deviating by several degrees. There you need to know if your coffee is being brewed at the "optimal temperature”. One star for failing at the one thing they emphasize most on the entire list - accuracy.
