I adjusted the depth of the collar by cutting the plastic, but you can only cut half of the collar because the other half has metal latches. If the collar neck is too small, it cannot be adjusted. The collar is not easy to put on and take off as the metal buttons are sometimes difficult to open. Lined collar neck. The plastic is hard but flexible. I wouldn't use it as a rehab collar. Metal buttons add weight to the collar. When wearing this collar, the cat may injure its neck by jumping off something. The cat cannot eat in it. My cat is just a house cat. I would not put this collar on an outdoor cat. An outdoor cat needs to defend itself sometimes, and with this collar, it couldn't.
