Review on πŸ“ High-Performance ATP Y-807 Speedometer Cable for Superior Accuracy by Djmikis Parker

Will not fit 1965 Mustang without modification

As another reviewer (who am I to listen to!) noted, the braided steel core is too long compared to the stock speedo cable in my '65 Mustang with C4 transmission. I had to shorten it from the side of the gearbox (if you leave it longer you can't thread the cable into the speedometer). The problem is cutting it clean enough to attach the plastic speedometer gear, a loose wire and impossible to attach the plastic gear. Because of this, what should have been an easy task took too long. In hindsight, I should have bought a higher quality cable from a proper Mustang parts supplier for just a few dollars more. The only plus is that other reviews mentioned that the O-ring was not included. The cable I received had an O-ring so I didn't have to reuse the old one.

  • Speedo Cables
Cons
