Very light, you can do without a light on the handlebars in the dark, otherwise it would be pitch black in the forest. However, don't count on it being your only source of light. The battery needs to be charged before each use to keep it from running out of power, but this is perfectly normal. It's light because the battery isn't big, but you don't want it on your head. This is perfect for extra lighting when you're looking around. Two $25 handlebar lights and a helmet light is the perfect combo for me.
