Anchor Never Opened

Looking at the details as well as the assembly instructions it looked like I was going to drill a huge hole in the wall that wouldn't be solid: unfortunately I was right. was supposed to be built into drywall so I tried hammering the screw in with a wall plug. took too long, annoyed my neighbors (awesome!) and then was downright shaky. I tried tightening the nut but it never tightened enough because the anchor wouldn't open. fix it with the two screws provided. it worked, ish. (I didn't use wall plugs because I was afraid of making some more giant holes in my new walls, ugh.) At this point I was able to screw the doorstop to the wall, but every time I tried to tighten it, it would tighten then turn. so i left him. I'm afraid my door (this is my front door) will knock on the limiter for the first time - that's the end of it, but now I've got it installed. kinda.disappointed.TO ADD: I injected some gorilla glue into the hole where the screw went in and the doorstop is no longer wobbly. It can break and destroy my wall. but so far so good (10 days). although I am very careful not to open the door.
