Scratch finish and does not slip off surfaces. I just started using the device. There was a strange sequence when registering my username where the response came back as "lost internet connection". I tried to register again but now my username is being used. Eventually, I realized that the "Internet connection lost" message was showing up, but it didn't really mean anything. My first attempt was successful. I emailed support@launchonlineshop.com twice yesterday and both emails were answered. Launch's technical support team is responsive and helpful. Launch has already asked me if I have any ideas to improve the product. I connected the device to my 2006 Chevy Impala SS last night. It connects easily and captures a lot of information. I like being able to activate things like the radiator fan relay and the A/C compressor relay from the unit. I like the ability to disable individual injectors. I love that I can plug this into the vehicle, start graphing the PIDS, drive around and log the results and view them later. Log files may be sent to Launch and/or other sources for review and analysis. As I said, I haven't worked much with the device yet, but I will. I would like the device to measure the voltage across the wheel speed sensors and display a surge function to better diagnose faulty sensors. This feature may require an oscilloscope type device which the Launch may not have. I'll ask the techs and see. So far a great product for the price. I would recommend it to any of the $200 ODB-II scanners I've bought in the past. My suggestion is to save the money you could spend on regular ODB scanners and get this bi-directional scanner with much more features.
