I used the hot comb for my girls. They have different types of hair. One is loose wavy curly and light. The other has curly thick hair. The comb held its heat. I would suggest more teeth on the comb. The teeth were thick and I had to keep going over their hair. Maybe if it was thinner I wouldn't have to go over to reduce heat damage. Other than that my girls were satisfied.
