I bought this product a few weeks ago and only got to test it after it rained heavily recently. The lid is light but has a good thickness so I didn't find it very fragile. It was easy to slip into my bag and the buckle straps kept it in place. I thought the lid clips would bother me when using the shoulder straps, but with a little adjustment that wasn't an issue. After running a half mile in a downpour I got to my destination and found that the cover repelled most of the water and wasn't too wet itself (ie didn't absorb water). My bag was completely dry. I don't know how long-lasting this product will be, but so far I'm happy with it. When purchasing a product, I used the dimensions in inches as a guide and not the "size" (volume in liters). If I chose my size, the suitcase would be too small for my pocket.
