As the name suggests, I am shocked that it charged my phone! I connected my phone charger to the radio (although the radio comes with its own USB charger) and my phone's battery percentage kept increasing! 😲 That's why I want to keep the product. Yes, I assumed the battery in the radio would be dead from being in storage. Note. I tested this product at night right out of the box, so I didn't test the solar charger or the crank. FM radio stations will be heard clearly and without interference when the antenna is in place. The AM stations were full of interference. The SOS button is loud but flat and slightly concave, meaning it won't be accidentally triggered in a purse or backpack. *I could only get ONE weather station. But I have seen other radios on this page that have 7 preset NOAA weather stations. But there's only *ONE* on THIS radio. The only weather station this radio has is a bit static even with the antenna up. But I live in a suburb where there are a lot of trees, so your reception may vary depending on the area. I've read many other negative reviews about other manufacturers' emergency radios that say some functions don't work. I do not work. All functions of this radio work.
